Green Earth Foundation Expands Reforestation Mission into West Africa
2025 marks an exciting new chapter for Green Earth Foundation. After previous impact-driven work across East Africa, this is the first year our organization and partners are taking bold steps into West Africa, launching a large-scale planting mission from the ground up.
The journey is already underway! Together with local partners, we have prepared over 522,000 seedlings, each carefully cultivated and ready to be planted into the soil. These seedlings represent more than trees—they are the roots of resilience, designed to restore landscapes, support livelihoods, and strengthen ecosystems in a region increasingly vulnerable to climate change.
On August 25, 2025, more than 10,000 young trees were already taking root, a symbolic beginning to what will soon grow into a massive reforestation effort. By the end of August, we are set to launch much larger wave of plantings, one that will transform degraded lands into thriving green corridors.
A Partnership for Lasting Impact
We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome and eager collaboration of local groups, whose knowledge and dedication make this ambitious mission possible. Their hands-on support ensures that every tree planted is not only a seed of hope, but also a step toward community-driven sustainability.
As one of the key partners, our role will be to help plant 500,000 seedlings as part of a larger vision of restoring the “Green Wall” in the Sahel region, surrounding the Sahara Desert. By contributing expertise, resources, and international collaboration, Green Earth Foundation is proud to stand alongside CRA-SL and local communities as a driving force behind this transformation.
Looking Ahead
The expansion into West Africa is more than a new project—it is a testament to what can be achieved when global commitment meets local action. Together, we are creating a living legacy of healthier soils, restored ecosystems, and new opportunities for families and farmers who depend on the land.

This is only the beginning. As seedlings take root across West Africa, we are reminded that every tree is a promise: a promise of shade, water, biodiversity, and hope for generations to come. Green Earth Foundation is proud to be part of this journey—growing not just forests, but a future.
